What country has the most craft breweries in the world?

According to the Chicago Tribune, as of June 30, 2018, the U.S. leads the world with with 6,655 craft breweries. Craft breweries have been nothing short of a phenomenon in the States, blowing up from around 1,500 breweries in 2008. With 764 breweries, California was the leading craft beer producer in 2017. Europe isn’t far behind, however. Statistica.com shows that the U.K. lands in the top spot with 1,655 breweries, followed by Germany with 1,295.
