Cuba At A Glance:


Located just 90 miles south of Key West, Florida, Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean. It exudes a wealth of natural beauty from its gorgeous boardwalk in Havana to its lush mountains and beyond. It is a country where the arts and music are revered above all. The genuine hospitality of the people alone is the best reason to visit Cuba.


What to bring: A valid passport for 6 months past the date of travel and government issued photo ID & visa which Cultural Island Travel will send before the departure date. Cuba is very casual during the day. Pack t-shirts, polo shirts, tank tops, skirts and shorts. Have one or 2 nice outfits for nice dinners and shows. Some restaurants and show venues do not allow shorts. Opt for lightweight, breathable fabrics. Keep those jeans and jackets at home, but consider a lightweight sweater or shawl as evenings can be cooler. Bring sunblock, aloe vera. hats and sun protection, the sun can be strong at certain times during the day. Insect repellant is also a good idea for evenings in certain areas. Comfortable walking shoes, some streets are cobblestone in the old city Any Medications and prescriptions you may need. They are not available in Cuba. Prescriptions must be in the original bottles. Bring a small travel umbrella since intense rains can pop unexpectedly. Finally, be sure to bring a camera (one that they can carry with them easily), as well as charger cords and memory cards or sticks. A smile, Cubans are some of the friendliest people on the planet and are excited to meet you. Temps: Swept by northeasterly trade winds, weather in Cuba is very consistent, enjoying a subtropical climate with year round temperatures of 78 degrees with the best weather being from November to April Currency: The current Cuban currency is the Moneda Nacional, currently some businesses also accept the dollar. The CUC has now been taken out of circulation.
